Elite Blog Academy My Honest Review.

One of my biggest regrets right now in life is when I started a blog and I quit like 6 months later, this was in 2010. Facebook reminds me every year of that blog. What I needed then was a blueprint for blogging and I would have made the investment in Elite Blog Academy.

Looking back and regrets

When I launched my first blog, our kids were small and I needed that creative outlet but because I couldn’t figure out blogging in general, I quit. What I needed, that I didn’t realize, was I needed someone to walk alongside me and teach me HOW to blog. I needed a blueprint to show me the steps I needed to take to create a sustainable business.

Do you have a regret that you wish you had done something but you couldn’t figure out how to get from point A to point Z? My passion for writing was like that, but I couldn’t figure out how to make it happen.

In 2010, the blogging world was much smaller and it was growing so fast. Bloggers were learning by doing. I didn’t have the time or patience to learn to blog that way, I was busy raising 2 boys. What I needed was a roadmap.

A Vision Rebirthed

In 2016, I learned about Elite Blog Academy, known as EBA. I had been following a blogger off of Pinterest and watching her blog grow practically overnight. She kept attributing Elite Blog Academy to her success. Because of those posts, I ended up on the waiting list for Elite Blog Academy. Enrollment only opens once a year so I got on the waiting list. You should get on the waiting list now by clicking here!

Since I was on the EBA waiting list I was able to purchase EBA on a flash special invitation-only sale and make my investment in Elite Blog Academy.

When I got that email in December of 2016, I sat down and had a conversation with my husband. He couldn’t believe I wanted to spend that much money right before Christmas. I had to explain to him the investment in Elite Blog Academy was like taking a college course that I always had access to. We had a few days of discussion over it, and as you can see he agreed to allow me to take the class.

My EBA Journey

See why it is so IMPORTANT to get on the waiting list?! Then I had to wait for the doors to open in February of 2017 to start the class. EBA doesn’t tell anyone about their flash sales so I highly recommend you get on the waiting list TODAY!

My journey with EBA started in February 2017. I didn’t have my blog set up yet so I had to figure out how to get it set up. By April of 2017, I had my blog set up and I was starting to write consistent posts.

I didn’t launch my blog to the public until September of 2017 and right after I did that, I changed my URL. I don’t recommend you do it that way. But sometimes it happens. Sometimes you have to change the name of your blog a few times.

What does EBA offer?

EBA has 4 modules with 3 chapters in each for a total of 12 lessons. Each lesson has homework, a video, and written course work. Together, these 12 lessons take you on a journey to take your blog from nothing to being a blog that is in a position to be a business. Some people are able to do that quickly, some people it takes a little longer. For me, I am in a little longer category.

Here’s a quick look at the modules:

  • Module 1: Refine Your Message
  • Module 2: Grow your Traffic
  • Module 3: Monetize your Platform
  • Module 4: Build your Business

How does it work?

EBA is an online course. It is self-directed and I would put it in the category of continuing education if you were in an industry that needs CE credits. This course would cover all your CE credits for a year.

For me, I printed off every single chapter of the course. I put it in 2 binders and I would carry that binder with me while I was working on the course. I would read it while waiting for my kids at piano lessons, the pool, or their sports activities. Using every spare minute of time I had to consume the information that Ruth Soukop had poured her soul into.

Who is Ruth Soukup

Ruth is the blogger and Founder of Living Well Spending Less and she is also the Founder of Elite Blog Academy. She saw a need that bloggers DO need a course to help them take their blogs from hobby to business. So she wrote a book and then she created a course.

Ruth is present in the class, but she isn’t there daily. The class is self-directed. So if you expect her to be there every single day, I’m sorry to disappoint you, but she won’t be. She does do Facebook live video’s in the group so you will see her occasionally.

Is Elite Blog Academy for everyone?

This is a great question! What I would ask is who is it not for? That is the bigger question. EBA is not for the person who doesn’t want to do the work. If you are just going to purchase the class and not do the work, then I don’t think you should even finish reading this post.

With that being said, EBA is for the person who is looking at their blog and wants to take it to the next level. They want to grow their blog into a business, whether it’s a full-time income or a part-time income. Everyone has their own goal. If you are a self-starter, and self-motivated then you are totally 100% ready for this course. If you have visions of your blog earning $10,000 a month, then you need to get on the waiting list today!

How much is Elite Blog Academy?

Elite Blog Academy is $997 and it is worth Every. Single. Penny. Why?! During the last year, there was a mental shift that happens while completing the course. You go from being a hidden blogger who doesn’t tell anyone about their biggest passion, to telling the world about it and walking confidently in knowing you are a blogger and this is a real business.

If $997 is too much for you, they do offer a payment plan. There are also 3 options for purchasing EBA, Silver, Gold, and Platnum. They all have value and if I were to do it all over again, I would.

The Investment in Elite Blog Academy

In addition to the mind shift, the people I have met in the Facebook group and the EBA community is amazing! I love that there are bloggers who have been blogging for a long time and brand new bloggers who are still learning how to make their website look good.

Some are earning an income of over $100K a month now. They took EBA when it first came out and now their blogs are businesses. In the Facebook group, I can ask them a question and they will answer. That is so worth it!

If I were to go and take a college class at my local community college to improve my skills, it would cost anywhere from $500-$1000. EBA is comparable to a college course.

But unlike a college course, this course has lifetime access, if there are changes to the course, I always have access to them. If there are new bonuses to the class, I get those too. So the $997 price tag isn’t that much when you compare it to a college class.

The struggle

Some of the things I struggled with while taking EBA, was the technical parts of blogging. I was SO GREEN when I started EBA.

I had no idea how to set up a blog. WordPress was so new to me and I used Lynda to learn how to use WordPress. Setting up my blog with a theme and learning about the Genesis framework. All of that is not included in the course.

Help to set up your blog

However, EBA has a Build Your Blog Bootcamp right before they open the doors for enrollment. The Build Your Blog Bootcamp will help you get your blog set up in three days. If you aren’t on the waiting list, and the technical side is what is holding you back, then you need to take this Bootcamp! It’s totally free and so worth it!

The other downside of EBA is that it only has enrollment open once a year. For 2020, it’s the week Monday, Mar. 2nd, 2020 to Friday, Mar. 6th, 2020. Once the cart closes on March 6. That’s it. You won’t be able to purchase the course until 2021. (Unless there is a flash sale!)

What’s in it for you?

If you have read this far in this post, then you need to click here and watch all the success stories of EBA. They are amazing! Each of them is so different. Jennifer’s story about how her blog supports her family with 8 kids is so inspiring!

Overall, I would recommend Elite Blog Academy to my best friend (and I have) AND to anyone else. I think the knowledge I learned is awesome. If you know you want to take your blog to the next level, then this course is for you! If you are still hemming and hawing, there is no harm in signing up for the waiting list today.

Remember how I told you that I regret not sticking with blogging back in 2010? Now that I have finished the course, I can tell you that EBA gave me the blueprint for growing my blog from the ground up.

As I write this post, I have hundreds of blog posts, my traffic grows every week and I have made a small income from my blog.

The investment in EBA is worth every penny.

EDIT Added February 23, 2020: Since taking EBA, I have taken many other blogging courses. Recently I was asked if I still thought EBA was worth it. I had to tell me friend that I would buy EBA over and over again if I had to. It is the most comprehensible course to grow your blog into a business. It teaches you how to create a platform that will help launch your business and how to scale it as it grows.

Besides gaining knowledge, I gained friends who are like-minded, I gained wisdom in blogging and most importantly, I gained self-confidence. That is by far the best investment I could make in my life.
