Do you want to make money? We all do! Now, the question is how. If you are looking for a way to earning money as a freelancer and getting some extra cash on the side, freelancing might be an option for you. Freelancers offer many types of services and don’t always work in one specific area.
Here are 17 ways that you can start earning money as a freelancer today!
What is Freelancing?
First, you may be wondering what is freelancing. Freelancing, contracting, temporary work all kind of mean the same thing. A freelancer is a person who works for another with a contract that states what the project or time commitment is for the amount that will be paid.
But the best part is you get to make your own hours and decide where you are going to work. Being a freelancer myself, I have worked while traveling with my family. I love the freedom of being my own boss.
How does a freelancer find work?
Finding work can be a challenge, but I have some tips for you. Freelancers use many resources to find jobs. They can use Upwork, Fiverr and LinkedIn. I have found clients on Facebook and in Facebook groups. I have even gotten clients from my friends who know I am a Freelancer.
If you decide to use Facebook as a way to find clients, I highly recommend creating a Facebook Business page that can reflect your work, client reviews and even your services.
I have also heard from fellow freelancers that LinkedIn is a gold mine for finding clients. Be sure to update your LinkedIn profile too so that clients can find you there.
What do you need as a freelancer?
To start freelancing, after you have decided which services you want to offer, all you need is a computer and a contract. I don’t have a contract, but I do recommend the contract from Abbie Ashley of The Virtual Savvey. It is very customizable and you can then upload it into a document software for the signatures. You can click here to find access to The Vault which has the contract and a membership to The Vault which has trainings for being a freelancer.
